"I do not myself feel good"

In FR a interview with Keira Knightley found, in which she says:

"I do not myself feel good"
I need equal in Ilse Aichinger think the thought:

"I think anyway, is to think that the opposite of positive thinking."
How similar are the approaches that!

I just got offered any interesting roles in major productions. I looking for complex characters that provide me with a challenge. I hate it when actors say, "I play certain roles that I feel good." I will not feel comfortable.

"evangelism" I have learned from Christianity as an activity, another person to talk to the Christian faith to persuade to change her to get around to cajole, ... Perhaps this should still be mentioned the so-called mission to not even speak of the "inner mission .

"Return", however, is as much as' sweep 'clean', 'clean', but 'business' as well 'Reverse', 'turn around'.

nothing you look so often to sex to escape

found Erich Fried in "A soldier and a girl," this remarkable sentence:

nothing you look so often to escape into sex. (P. 40)

Had while to think of testosterone bombers probably flee from nothing into sex!

Here is the quote in another context:

One Helga has apparently even said that she loved the soldier was not yet attractive, as she expressed her last wish. On the feasibility of this wish they had as little thought as those around him: he was nothing more than spite and fear of not been. Nothing is so often seeks to escape from in sex. The choice of the person of the soldier but was - at least on the surface - the wrath of his laugh Helga's due, she had been confused as already mentioned.

How Do You Make A Peace Sign On Face

An elastic tanks against its own nerve

have a new Starting with Erich Fried's novel A soldier and a girl started. It found this beautiful phrase:

only one kind of elastic tanks against his own nerves. (P. 9)

Again, the whole thing in a broader context:

But an hour or two later, but then I stand next to him. He sits and hums. Not unpleasant, maybe a little thick, but this is often a kind of elastic tanks against his own nerves. Humming a song that I have over the years is no longer in England.

Hamburg: Hamburg Gotenhof

Last week in Hamburg a "Gotenhof" seen. Had to immediately think of the Goths. Not to the East Germanic people, but to Gote in the plural: the Goths as godmother. In Wittgenstein district godmother is also called "Goth", and the godfather "Petter". The Godfather there is support in the Evangelical Reformed tradition, the parents in Christian education and care in case of death of parents is the godchild.

Nobel Peace Prizes for comedians?

found on Saturday (11/20/2010) in the Berliner Morgenpost, a column by Eckart von Hirsch Hausen. In this he struck the Nobel Peace Price for Comedian before. While was released Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma by the military from house arrest, would Zarganar Burman, a former dentist, was sentenced to 59 years in prison as in 2008 following the disaster trying to help organize and though the government had criticized.

Reiseabschnitt Nordkorea im Rahmen einer vierjährigen Weltreise.

Erinnern Sie sich noch an Philipp Jenninger ? a) not unsympathetic man, b) as a politician, he had no skeletons in the closet, c) he was certainly no Nazi . If the democratic elections of his constituency and his performance there watching (agreement 50.1% of the primary vote) he can not have been so unpopular . And yet it excited the Journaille wanted to deliberately misunderstand when he enthusiasm for Hitler and National Socialism with the word "fascinating " said. It must Hitler and the Nazi's, the Germans have fascinated they do indeed still , and, as a substitute religion "officially" kept alive, they will have to continue to fascinate. will make sure their successors, the Greens and the Left already that they will remain "Faszinosen" each receive the liturgical rules and rituals follows: sorry if not.

we hold so firmly, the Nazi's have fascinated . Understanding the mechanisms themselves in a kind of self-experimentation , the fascinations of a mass fascist organization suspend, too, was one of the reasons for our visit to North Korea . Instead of mantra-like empty words of disgust parrot, so how anti-fascism "is taught in German schools , we found it better for our children (and us) to enjoy the experience of fascination and himself watching to understand why mass spectacle and major sporting events and so much targeted by dictatorships of all political colorations be used. And why they fascinate. First of all: The DPRK there's tip, I can not imagine a greater perfection in the Olympics of 1936.

Yes, I admit it: we had this fascination, the Arirang Mass Games in first May Stadium in Pyongyang "kill". ( largest stadium in the world!) We have only this evening 1860 photos shot and we had even considered whether we go for a second time . Sure, we have prepared the verbal. We, we can get information on travel and books. But how are people who, whether in Nazi Germany or, as here are cut in a weltabgeschotteten system of information, creating a critical consciousness ? How to win a distance to the system? How is one of the young people, which is the join an award require, as of the of deprivation and hard work of citizens accustomed of such a cast in ideological forms of the country?

It is important to understand the mechanisms of Massenbeinflussung . Have we, too shrill? Especially the tens of thousands of "young idealist" people who feel comfortable in the heat of the mass so that they keep the forest camps around Gorleben an experience. The subject is compliant the ideological corset the anti-nuclear movement, (the Easter marches, the anti-American demonstrations, the daily organizer Israelbyokotten) .

Have these people actually turn up a right over her nose the generation of their grandparents? Can they really look down on their heads held high the young people in the DPRK ? Feel superior to the uneducated Muslim mob ? Did they, or really smart 68iger their fathers take a right the descriptive language of a Philip Jenninger as an opportunity for him to chase out of the office?

I do not think so. In their Rituals, their devotion or devotion to a different ideology they not in the least. If all in the arrogance with which they pursue dissidents.

you should shut up!

DPRK

(朝鲜民主主义人民共和国)
Chosŏn Minjujuŭi Inmin Konghwaguk

Travel Section North Korea as part of a four-year world tour.

The next morning, Wednesday the 06th October 2010, we were once again a good breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Since we still had some time we walked into the large and well-appointed stamp shop next to the hotel. It is likely that a normal Koreans never here, "runs". He probably will not get access times, and if so, he can not afford the prices in euros. However, if the Koreans can what it is to design beautiful stamps. Really attractive and beautiful stamp series. Now, once we hit, we, we never buy souvenirs. (What should we order? You about 4 years rumschleppen with us? We would need a container.) So does my daughter with animal shows, especially, of course, Panda Bear, the offspring of technology and transport, and we My wife and I buy, "political" brands. So Kim Il-sun in the flower field, Korean fighters, all that the designers for the glory the country is invaded. Also postcards we buy, not to send, no, as a reminder. One day, when there is no longer the DPRK, then they are a good reminder. I just hope that the following history of forgery and iconoclasts can least of all the mosaics are on the streets. They are such wonderful characters of an era.

letter Maken are lightweight and take up less space. THUS does our leaders take us to the station. For sure, we leave the country, as we have come by train. The group quickly tourists sit a long time ago back in the airplane. We have 24 hour drive ahead of us. We say goodbye to the driver, both of our lovely tour guides but wait until the train rolls. Provision. You are responsible for us. Perhaps it is indeed but one on the idea and wants to stay in the country unannounced.

Now a smooth ride. We sit and let the last day's events. And now that my journal writing, as we have experienced it and formulated so that we hurt our tour guides were not, so something on the "local voice", that detail the Korean language rules, I repeat the sentence from the Preface:

The trip was great, high density of events is enormous impressive contrast and it gives Nachdenkstoff for weeks. Thus, our journey into the trip was worth every penny.

When we come to the border, again it takes hours to all passengers and their luggage was checked. This time, however one looks closely at the cameras. After a first baggage screening uses a special camera control, a border officer with sufficient knowledge of English is next to me and asks me to scroll through all images. I do so only with the first camera, then with the second. She looks exactly. In principle, they are interested, as we for photographing military installations anyway no chance (and no Interested), but whether we humans have "unfavorable" photographed in work clothes or work poses. It has since had a bad experience. Since it takes for exactly 2 pictures that I willingly delete. We know little of digital technology and so I save up on these 2 pictures I got in a similar way again, all my 4170 photos. I have not done harm to the DPRK, but to have memories. Finally, a country also includes poor people in Egypt or Jordan, it looked much worse without it Fotografierprobleme exist. One can also called local color.

Then we get out of the DPRK and go into Beijing. An educational trip, the trip comes to an end.

However, there is now way back to our own language rules. All those who have expected of me that I am investing with the tour guides, will convince them of our system, I had to disappoint. All those who thought to write a horror report on the DPRK as well. It is not our intention to travel the world and to have cured other people in the German character. We are not reformers, at least not outside of Germany. I accept the DPRK as it is. It is not my country, it is not my political system. My wife is glad that it is no longer in Russia, such a system there, knowing that much is imperfect.

I repeat myself: My, respectively, our total rejection of communism, all forms of socialism is well known. We withdraw any collectivist hug and hate the left and their socialist cousins and softened their green cousins. We are making our life has always been self-sufficient, up individually in the hair roots and reject any guide, every care and mothering from each.

All the things we hate, hate from my heart, was in North Korea. The state keeps its citizens in bondage, he uses his resources are not, he has a stubborn leadership, which can be rather starve their people to renounce as political doctrines. It bends the history and prevent the public can obtain information freely. You pray to Kim Il-sun, ersatz religion, and there probably in the world no comparable personality cult. And so on and so on ... all known. If the epic again rolled wide wish to consume, look in our mass media, Der Spiegel and other organs. Which is also inherently lies, at least they use the freedom not accorded by our system. Mostly we write on each other. Opposing views are also swept away from us. The case Sarrazin is still in good memory.

So: If I have to excite me about the DPRK, it must cause I'm all injustices. If I do, too, especially if you want to sell us these systems are still as worthy of emulation and exemplary, as the left do, for example, with Cuba and Venezuela, and their "gifted" (socialist) leaders Castro and Chavez. And if I meets a Che Guevara T-shirt I think the support for an underexposed idiot. Here in China, Mao is revered, not knowing, or denial that he has millions on its conscience. The new Nobel Peace Prize here, no one knows, not he is interested in the bean. Do you think the 1.5 billion would have ever heard his name? Apart from a few Intellektruellen and students but no. So what?

I need my health will no Ulcer get and can not change the suffering of the world. And yet sometimes I get a stomach ulcer. Because I think of my own country. Because it really excites me. Since I could puke!

So back to the train. We are acquainted with the neighbors in other compartments: A Dutch woman who lived for years in China and worked for a telephone company. She speaks seven languages. Then a young couple, very lovely people, he attaché of a Western country, she works for an international shipping company. With the Dutch, we find common that German living in Germany, completely unresponsive for other thoughts. learned from a few people who have worn mental paths leave apart. But the people who live abroad and look into it to Germany or the Netherlands or Europe have very different positions. Are essentially sovereign. Escape the connotations and critical views of their governments and developments.

And now, after this great journey, but still, the absolute frustration. In the next compartment is also a professor of molecular biology at the Max Planck Institute in Munich. A very nice man, with which we, next door because he "lives" and often stands in the hallway, chatting a lot. We note that we have attended the same school that Rehberge Elementary School in Berlin Wedding, and I am amazed, even had the same teacher, Mrs. beer friend. But he is 5 years younger, so he came to the school as I had already left. And so a meeting in this part of the Welt.Schließlich we invite him to the bottle of ginseng liquor, which we have mitgenomen as provision. It is therefore in our compartment, we first talk about the DPRK and then to Germany. Now begins the frustration, we have e inen picture book left in the compartment. Very informative. Alexander, my son, ears, as big as salad bowls. He is silent and listens:

was the right thing with Sarrazin. Even dealing with him. There is nothing wrong. I have a turn, then you would need in future only be read blurbs. He sticks to it. Such assumptions may not be published. Aha! As the man had said: "I am for pluralism" Then we come to speak on social systems: They are good, yes, and people have a right to it. My argument that we grow so dependent is nothing to him. But he is enthusiastic about multiculturalism. He can go to his Turkish restaurant at the Munich train station and Turkish food and water pipe smoking. This, we argue, he could even without all the multicultural madness. were restaurants of other nations has always been available. But it goes on. He calls Israel an apartheid system, and since I had invited him, I swallow it, he would have invited me I would have stood and gone. And so it goes. With the election of Obama, he did not sleep all night, deserved the Nobel Prize.

It's been long since I left such a had with directly before. The typical German intellectuals: Nice, friendly, intelligent, probably technically competent, but political flair and totally stupid. Tragic! When he is gone, making my son's mouth: "You are like fire and water," he says. "Incompatible" For him it was unlikely interesting. For he has, because outside of Germany, lives in Israel was interested in politics, is also of comparison.

I am however not in anger that night to rest. Not about the DPRK and its paranoid leader, but left on this professor, who is so typical of what our, uh, going on in my country. The next morning I ask him if it could be a professor with my attitude in Germany. "Probably not," he says, "perhaps in molecular biology, but in no case in politics and social sciences!"

pluralism in D-lean impression.

spin Around 9 we have a clock in Beijing. And then we get lost, like all other travelers in the vast crowd. We are all just grains of sand, at least in the Mass. It is left to the individual what he makes of himself. If he has the chance. In North Korea he has it, our impression is not, not always.

Chosŏn Minjujuŭi Inmin Konghwaguk

Travel Section North Korea as part of a four-year world tour.

Today, the 05 October 2010, begins with a program point, we had even proposed. We had wanted to visit a farm. I wanted to see how does agriculture, which machines and equipment you use, knowing that we are in a specially selected Vorführfarm would be.

So we drive, in glorious weather, 30 minutes on the highway and visit the Chonsam-ri cooperative farm. Now, we are now well trained to keep our version, yet when all the farms in the country look like this, one need not worry about the DPRK to make. Our Tourarrangeure therefore say that we of the view from the car window teaches nothing else, we left our minds in Beijing in the case.

We keep a very large, very clean, very clean and equipped with flower beds, forecourt. Here he is again, Kim Il-sun, this time with 3 children the great leader who knew a lot of agriculture. Chonsam-ri is the way, if I understood it correctly, people management. Since we are right, we see hard-working teachers cultivate the weed the lawn, the plants. Right next to the magnificent buildings that surround the square, we see a series of greenhouses. I look inside, tomatoes, cucumbers, storybook-like, exemplary. There is nothing wrong. The greenhouses are subject to a brigade of 50 people, the farm has 10 brigades, a total of 2,500 people live here. I am reminded of the fleeting thought that with us for the operation of such a series of greenhouse perhaps only 2-3 people would be employed, but then I repressed the thought. We have so many resin IV receivers that there is probably not, could learn from the DPRK so we.

Compared with sloping glass roofs a snail farm is located. We see a number of tanks with snails nibble on the leaves and on a bases we check to see eggs. must Well, very nice, but how to enable large-scale really want success to me explain again, perhaps later on a trip.

Now we go to a community center, or a kind of cultural center, an unusually large farm, a theater space of every German town and would do honor to behold: Just in this moment is, Geue bt. Once we were there we are greeted with clapping, our 6-man delegation takes place, begins alone in this big auditorium and a demonstration. At its best! Absolutely great! Only, I can hardly believe that it is part of the Farm Cooperative. The ensemble looks so well kept, Sun Nappies from working otherwise really in agriculture? And such talent in a farm. But I have my doubts aside and accept: The DPRK has the good fortune to have an unusually large number of talents. Anyway, we have again the absolute "Putin feeling," we, the artists and no one else ... Our thanks to the leaders of the cooperative!

But now we really want to see how the country's population lives in normality. It leads us to a typical farmhouse. The people are not there, they work of course, but the grandmother, is on loan as a picture book in the entrance gate of the walled enclosure, clean the house. It sorts dried fruit lying on a tarp. We must look into the house and. We can take pictures. We find very nice because we can say how clean and tidy, it looks like. The spotless kitchen, the smoke floor so clean, almost never used, very decent people. In the living room, covered with clean, Doilies, television, computer, stereo. Man, my first parents were farmers in Denmark. But then the saw is not enough. My first mother in law has not understood how to keep order. On the walls pictures of both Kim's and other family members of those really good family. We would still like to know other family members, but as I said, work comes first. After we have recovered in the face of this almost seemingly typical North Korean capitalist country version of our budget, we say goodbye warmly by his grandma and go by bus through a long tunnel to the other side of the mountain. Here, once got out, we stroll along a well-kept and made of smooth concrete leading to work through the rice fields. Nix with mud, slush and mud. Clean the freshly cut rice is piled in the fields. On the street next door drive modern tractors and trucks. In the fields, some farmers, men and women who work. My questions are answered. Then to see a brigade, very clean and dressed unusually colored, and begins on the already harvested fields to bend over. What exactly do they open up to me, not even they look a little urban. Likely to receive support from the city, we can see in the Soviet Union and East Germany. Slowly we go back to the bus. As we turn the group finished its work, it's really warm in the sun. Us also.

visit to this farm Cooperative has me thinking: Do we really get it right in the West? I have no idea what the 10 brigades of 50 people working here in detail, but if they work, and I presume they are busy. Hard working. In contrast, many of us stuck in the queue and obtain support. Yes, and in harvest time, we need to stand by Poland, the asparagus and bring in the grapes.

But now it goes on: We drive to the "Mt Ryonggak for picnic lunch and ascent to summit for panoramic view of Pyongyang. " An enchanting landscape, a good view and a little uphill climb. People are not here, except for one brigade, which tear off an old outhouse and repairing the roads. We enjoy the view, stay on the mountain top, then it's another step down to a fantastic picnic park. An approximately 30m long stone dragon winds through the picturesque landscape, are at his bedside, at different levels, created stone picnic tables and benches. A wonderful place, we repair alone, only about 50m away some of the workers way. Such a place I would have liked in Germany. But now the ultimate surprise: 2 tables are covered, cloth tablecloths, dishes, table grills, countless bowls of ingredients and large plate of various meats. 2 pretty young waitresses, not in gray work clothes, but in Pinkanoraks serve us and our meat grilled at your table. Very nice. Imagine that: With a second car, the young ladies extra reassigned from a restaurant in the city and drove her here. With all due Klimbim. It is fabulous. Good people: as far as organization, the North Koreans almost as good as we Germans Äähm, probably even better ...

In the countryside we do it, why not. Our children like it very well. Who would not be dropped so it looked after. That this can be but in the DPRK is a twist of fate, we've a.) paid and we b.) do not change yet. We still make our own thoughts, but not at this moment. The food is rich and we have enough time. Never entssteht the pressure, which we always read. Then we run to the tail of the dragon, which ends in a lake. Here is a beautiful parkland close to water tanks, figures, and an artificial island. Could it in the Residence of Kim Jong-Il look better? Hard to imagine.

is so saturated it back to town to visit a middle school. Also, a desired point of our program. The bus stops between school building and schoolyard. A teacher welcomes us and leads us into a classroom. Here we see the class best, the best school, the students earned the past, the walls are filled with photos and diagrams. Our children listen attentively. Then it goes up one floor in the biology room. On the cabinets and the floor are small stuffed animals of indigenous forests, in large glasses can we "inserted" Oktopussy's and even see a small shark. The stuffed animals from sehehn already taken something, but also with us is no money in so many schools. Then it goes through glass windows in the doors, we can see how to work in the classes, then the door: The English class.

We enter the student to jump, clap lasting (why, nor do we have nothing geeistet ...) then says the most obvious bombed a greeting us with questions. Our children are a bit befuddled, such a flow of words they had not expected. The questions are about: "What is your favorite subject," or "What did you do in your spare time?" Just harmless student questions. But really no conversation is going, which may be due to our children, who are a little shy and have not been long in front of a class. Therefore, I take an occasional and fill in the answers or ask questions yourself. Then I ask because I notice now coming to the end of the time, "He who has younger siblings?" And when some of the report show about 12 years old, I give children my best, "There are 2 pigeons sit on a roof" trick. The always goes down, breaking every ice and here are the kids excited. So we divorced, again accompanied by thunderous applause.

Now it goes into the music room: Already in progress are children lined up in school uniform and greet us with loud applause, then, the room itself, a teacher at a mixer and a school orchestra. What comes now is simply fabulous: Captured play for 30 minutes and the orchestra sings for us. Services that I do because I'm looking for can not compare with the services in other countries. Canada may be forgotten completely. The bring about anything, from very few exceptions apart. But not because of music education is, but rather at which ground-breaking talent of the individual. Even in Germany they would have longer, though not quite as long to search for comparable perfection found. We are all pretty impressed. As the concert ended, I thank you and assure the children that "they can be grateful to have such music teacher. Since radiation-all, even the teachers, and to thunderous applause, we will adopt here.

Now we have some time and our tour guides finally want my desire for a Redeem walk through normal residential streets. Sun all the works, not by her side already, but I felt NORMAL residential streets. But if we walk in the street, very representative, is to just renovated the Russian Embassy. Sure, there are houses. Very good looking, beautiful facades, excellent construction, flowers on the balconies, "a beautiful Jejend det is here." I have my doubts that it looks like that everywhere, but I know they will always show us the best. I think that's pathetic ... and I do it at my house visit so no different. Through streets where young, well-dressed People already practicing for the party, we come finally to the School Children's Palace.

With perfect timing and a super organization meet here all the other tour buses one of these days and now the palace is visited, and work is the usual, but is on Tuesdays "Open Day". We go from room to room and see kids like them, depending on Ausbildzungsstand, make ink drawings, embroidery, create or learn in different rooms, different music instruments. I was particularly impressed the room with the piano, or wings, where the children play at 4 wings and synchronously. The self get out only a few adult pianists. Never like this before seen or heard. Also see a Taekwondo class when we practice. Then, against 16 clock all the tourists gather in the theater. This is quite large, the whole building is, as usual, huge, and expect a performance. What now has to be experienced. A complete music and theater show at its best. I have never seen greater perfection. Absolutely outstanding. A high point "chases" the other. Oh, I forgot, no, these are not adults, are all the children. Trained to doom trained would say, one may well be only one such system. But the benefits are there, do not be talked away. The beaming faces at least I can see, the applause, the numerous bouquets of flowers delight the children. They see themselves recognized. Meanwhile, back

stomach growl. We are going to a Duck Restaurant (ie duck) and once again we eat with our guides. It goes on and we missed a barbecue duck at the table. It is clear that we thank them for their care, their superb organization. We raise our glasses and long echoes in space's more:

North Korea - Day 4

Before this tour there was, the day before, a few discussions with our tour guide. I had repeatedly pointed out that we tour to Panmunjom / DMZ (demilitarized zone) do not want it again, because we, a few weeks ago when we were in South Korea, the line had already seen in detail. also wanted the interest of our children, we do not overextend. But now I get to know typical asian tactics. They laugh friendly, as if we had made a joke, but remain adamant. Panmunjom / DMZ is a must. In the hotel we meet an older British couple who have been here 6 years ago and even then had made the tour. It does not help, they too are being carted to the border.

short term, I consider whether I should start a fight, but then I decide against it. The whole atmosphere is ultimately so good that we bite the bullet. First of all: We have not looked back. It was incredibly interesting, even for the children. The tour was to say quite different than in the south. We drive our minibus back empty on a highway. This time, no police officers to the streets. I take my 200mm and I manage to shoot good pictures. That alone makes it worth the drive. There are at least 170 km in one direction. Before the border then 4 controls, but much less effort than with the Americans in the South.

where you could not even individually to the border, but only as a tour group. The tour guide had made us familiar with numerous rules, including several dress codes. Then in the south all the border areas were mined, numerous warning signs. A major uprising, change to an American military bus, no photograph of the officer detailed daily organizer We had even sign that we in the case of a Konfliktsituatuion make anyone responsible ....

Now, in this case. We take our own Bus up close to the border. Short disembarking, pee, souvenir shop aboard, again. A North Korean officer leadership to rise, our hands, and pushes off you go. We stopped at the signing of barracks and the officer gave a talk, which is translated by the interpreter, however, very bad. Then we go into the same blue hut (Rebellog link) in which we were already a few weeks ago . Mistaken, all over again, only on the other side. This time, North Koreans keep watch. Must be a good timing, and a good agreement between the two sides that mutual tourists never get to see. Now we go to the main building, enter, it is the building where I was photographing the soldiers and then Cropte the photos, the Internet and put it in and it goes up to the terrace. Everything goes to all this and more, much more relaxed than in the south. We can take pictures of what we want, even the building on the south side of what we had been banned there. And of course, the 170m high mast flag of the North Koreans and the village at his feet. The Americans were forbidden to ostensibly because the North Koreans do not want it. I doubt now that representation. Anyway, I take pictures of him and no one takes offense at my tube. It is not clear whether the village is inhabited or not. Both sides claim the opposite. Supposedly it should be a North Korean Potemkin. But where dan live the farmers cut the rice?

Then it's back. We see no mine warning signs. Apparently the South Koreans, or its American partner, also a little paranoid, certainly from experience, but still. That's what happens when one is facing decades unforgiving. When we returned from the Border plants are out, we may take pictures of the commanding officer. But, with our children, all very relaxed. He asks us from our visit to the south, we willingly give information. As if not all knew already. Yes, he is one hundred fifty percent, or he would not be used here. And so cute and he smiles so much charm he has, and must determine his handshake in parting is: We are aware that we were not tourists, but perhaps agitating or spying enemy he might be otherwise. But are we do not. And the military and border stops the fun in all countries of the world. But this time the North Koreans are good psychologists: The relaxed atmosphere is the least pleasant visitors in memory and thus make the obligatory visit bearable.

Now it goes to lunch in the city of Kaesong. Kaesong is the fifth largest city in North Korea with 340 000 inhabitants. Lunch is typically Korean and everything is served in small brass bowls. In addition there was a hot soup, which was boiled until the table. Thus fortified, it continues:

In the Northeast, two miles outside the city, is the complex of Sŏnggyungwan Academy (in this function from 1089), in which he has since 1987, the Koryo Museum over the period of Goryeo Kingdom. In the surrounding park several old stone monuments from various temples in the country were established.

In the garden we also taste the fruits of Ginkobaumes, roasted fresh. Once again, 3km further we visit the grave of Wang Geon, the founder of the Goryeo Dynasty. The mausoleum is a place embedded in a charming landscape with two unobtrusive grave mounds, including stone statues.

There is a sad story: Wang Geon was looking for a grave space for his wife and for himself. He asked the shaman to find a suitable place and promises him a lot of money. The shaman finds this place, here, the king wants to check what the opposite hill and climb up. If he swings a white Tuchner, he likes the place and not the vizier to knock off the shaman's head. strained by the rise but the king wiped with a white towel the sweat from his forehead. The vizier in the valley holds the prearranged signal for the decapitated and the Shaman. In the valleys of the king learns what happened and, although he has saved the reward, he is very sad.

Me too. But the scenery is beautiful, the grave mound of the king and his wife are in place in the landscape. They want to be buried. Thanks to the shaman. Disaster for the Japanese, who plundered the grave. We go back to the car and drive home to Pyongyang. Again I have the opportunity to make photos. By humans. All doze.

But the day is not over yet, now it goes to the Golden Lane Bowling Centre. This has also Kim Il-sung already visited. Des is no different from our bowling centers, just as clean and perfect, yet the mood is different. Why? There are only a few people here. About 3 tracks are occupied, the others are about 17 free. We can not persuade our guides to play with us, so we play a game alone. For me find the way, only with difficulty, great shoes, but they are found. The balls are quite heavy, and although it was only one round, the next day the muscles. We are just out of practice concerning such Sporarten. The last game was 2 years ago in Canada.

Dinner in a restaurant follows. For the first time our companions to eat with us. It is a lively atmosphere and we are inclined to laugh when they raise me as "capitalists". One of the questions I remember: How many lights we have in one room? I answer truthfully, 7-8. The man nearly falls off his chair. For what? One, I say, on the ceiling, one next to the couch, then some spot from the wall of books, then in the reading corner, next to the fireplace, and so on. So again: Capitalist! Sure, here in Pyongyang and in the villages, you see when you look in the windows at night, only one cold-light fluorescent bulb. Very cozy. But since we do so also through the Open.

The food is great, we drink rice wine, and eventually it goes back to the hotel drunk. After all, he comes tomorrow ...

North Korea - Day 3 - Part 2

The afternoon begins for us with a visit to the "USS.Pueblo.

"The USS Pueblo (AGER-2) is a spy ship in the U.S. Navy, in the year 1968 by the capture by the North Korean Marine has gained particular notoriety. It is still owned by North Korea and is the world's only ship in the U.S. Navy, which is in captivity. "

says Wikipedia and shorter I can not say. When we arrived we expected, oh wonder, the officer from the War Museum yesterday. It leads us through the entire ship, a little rusty, pretty uncomfortable, "Kahn". Sharp-edged plates and hard corners, as usual, on warships. Proudly shows us our guide every corner, even as the team was staying. We see a cabin with bunk beds without mattresses. So, the Marines will not have slept, I do think that the U.S. Navy, even on a tight budget, its people begrudge a mattress. Maybe they have rotted away in the long term. The spy room is crammed with electronics, of course angejahrt and dusty, but still. What would a spy ship without technology? Then we come into the team room and another former officer is a flat-TV in operation. Now we see a North Korean document that explains how the circumstances of the application of the "USS.Pueblo" were handled. But had not my offspring already in Seoul, as we travel program by email received, the individual points from the Internet search and information currently on the Pueblo comprehensive? At 14, one obviously has a special interest in espionage operations. For us, the "Story", though not quite as detailed, yet known.

thought that the depictions of Koreans differ materially from our knowledge. These contradictions were also our son immediately. But we are polite, and besides, it is a tremendously instructive process different representations do so directly at himself. However, the DPRK exaggerated the incident Sun strongly as a victory over the American imperialists and the U.S. military and is proud of the capitulation and apology made signatures, that we refrain in this travelogue, an analysis of self-consciousness of the current management situation make and explain to the Western view. Overall, however, we have capitulation and apology signatures in several places seen, they are, this is obvious to the stabilization of the national self-image needed. But we have such self-affirmation rituals not in Germany? Think about times our current approach to history after. The further we move away from the event all the more intense we are fixated on it.

ride in glorious weather, we now proceed to the city wall, or the remains thereof. Actually it is a park, the Moranbong Park, laid out very nicely, the remains of walls and gates contains. We walk with our guides through the gently rising park, rarely we meet people. At a gate sits an art student and enjoy the panorama painted on the door. The picture is almost complete, but she dabbed still green leaves on the branches. We can photograph them exceptionally. On a few meters away Bench seat, a young man, reading. The two decorate the landscape in a pleasant manner that is otherwise so audience-free. But later, at another gate, young people sitting on the floor and have a picnic. Some are even empty bottles next to it, the mood is already raised. This has not so much decorative role, is more of a casual situation, woe is us, they also encountered in many parks. Even the couple with toddler seat very well happen on the lawn, and people are standing in line at a booth on the fat baked now not decorative. One can see that they work hard everyday.

In a pavilion, picturesque Located in a valley, it has proved many people. Pensioners, who dance to the music of a cassette recorder. Seniors dance also. When we appear, they show, my impression, especially what they can, and especially two old men dancing together at their best. They dance very excited. Need for recognition is very international.

This walk is nice and relaxed, you can let your soul. Sure, for a 3.3 million city surprisingly few people are here. And the lack of people, we naturally see everywhere in Pyongyang, where tourists show up, or could arise. Nevertheless, We'll end the trip do not feel have enough people have seen.

Especially not at the next attraction, the amusement park. Our leaders have the thought of our children. You do not know that our children have of Bush Gardens, Disney World over, Pidgeon Forge daily organizer or the German-French-festival in many parks and have been happy there. Or so viewed: You have comparisons. Since the park from cuts not bad. So into the fun. The park is large and has also been visible from a distance attractions. The main attraction is a Bangeejumpingturm in the middle. On a chair ring around the tower shaft maybe 20 people take place in a chair and dragged about 30 meters up. Then swapped in and zoom all the chairs in the depths. Bungee mass. Screams and cheers when like us. Then these horrible things in turning many people strapped into a large round stand and then turns and sets up vertically. Kotz, not for me. An air rocking ship, bumper cars, an arcade with lots of computer equipment, car simulation, target shooting, etc. And then the main attraction: a roller coaster. I like to ride roller coaster, as long as nothing goes over the top. This is very modern and is also a spiral overhead. It is not sitting, lying. I've seen several of these tracks, this is not only brand-new, it is also in design has never seen such by us. I'm looking through the eyes of the sign of the manufacturer, can not find it, but either it is from one of the great German fairground equipment or even from America. We do not drive.

We have of course, a park guide who makes a rather bored face, if only because they always have to stand by while we watch, but if we want to do something, we, in spite of countless Waiting , the first to the immediate and above all else, have their turn. This makes us now feel very bad and the children go only once to talk together in bumper cars and then take a tour of our guides for a trip in the airship. But this is, at least for him and me an error, it does not do well, he says this is torture, I agree with him and my stomach starts to rebel. I do not even wave to my wife, but concentrate on keeping control of my bowels. Phew.

The third thing that we participate, is at an arm wrestling machine. The idea is mine and the other tour guide and I are measured. He wins.

The park is very full. What is striking: All children and adults stand or sit politely and patiently to all corresponding inputs absolutely disciplined. It is amazing to see that as a kind of block of children 8 to 10 side by side and in 20 rows behind the other sits and waits. They stare at us, but they wait. The peace and discipline studied at a German amusement park to none. Nothing doing. So here is the education in school, in the pioneer camp, or youth organization for daily life. I try to assign the children given parents. But that does not work, there are probably mainly groups with educators. But this time for us nothing is free. We have no idea what the locals pay, but we pay for every attraction we have made 5 €. This is the unit price in North Korea for Westerners, quite obviously, whether flowers or roller coaster. Of course, we do not pay themselves, the leader gets the money from us and governs with the leader. Very clear: This visit was not prepared. Otherwise the price would probably have been also included. In the hotel I

bring my rebellious stomach to rest, watch TV, look out the window once more fireworks than the first May-stadium and ...

... I look forward to day number 4!

Nordkorea - Tag 3 - Part 1

(Sunday, 03.10.2010) The next morning sees us "fine" dressed. But what does fine on a world tour. My suit I have long left in the trunk of our cars made in Germany. My wife of course, no evening dress in the suitcase. But we had not bought in Beijing ties and my wife already knows how to become respectable with a few simple steps. For, look politely at the next visit point duty. Like the whole visit is required, press not the point. We visit the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, So the Kim Il-sung Mausoleum. What follows is so unique, so special that every language is insufficient superlatives to describe it. Since access is granted only after 17, our children do with one of our leaders to visit the zoo. It would have made an exception for the offspring, but he does not want his little sister left alone.

We string words us into the flow of visitors. Cameras give, all that is metallic, may I take the express declaration at least my second pair of glasses. Now it goes into the vestibule of the sanctuary. We will carefully patched, then we run on electrical brushes that clean our shoes from the bottom. At every turn, every corner of the security forces. I am going up on escalators, then endless, truly endless treadmills, as they know from the Frankfurt airport, we are transported towards the main building. But the length of the bands in the Frankfurt airport is against this one short. Here we must not run, as we step onto the tape, so we stop until we once again after a long, long time with escalators up and transported back on treadmills on.

Sowa impressed though me then as a city dweller and world traveler, the more inexperienced and simple people, perhaps from the country, from the province. One thing is clear, this effort has an effect especially inside, to the people of the DPRK. It's obvious that we are approaching a dead body with respect, no one has the intention to steal the Kim Il-sung, the very idea is absurd. So even less security forces would be enough. But this is not just about security, not only. This demonstrates the Kim Il-sung's body Nahm, is the most sacred thing this nation has to offer. Therefore, We even X-rayed, discreetly of course, in the march-past by an escalator.

settled in a reasonable mood and gravity we now proceed through marble halls and staircases, almost no one speaks, at best a faint whisper can be heard occasionally. We approach the sanctuary, large double doors, then we are in the vestibule of the mausoleum converted palace. Here he is, Kim Il-sung, this time in marble, but here we have not vebeugen us. Then give us serious gentlemen small MP3 player, for any visitor to the desired Language and we enter another large room with reliefs on the walls and his smiling portrait on stone red flag on the front wall. I turn on the player, and he explained the relief. I am so fascinated by the text that I consider a short time to steal all the players, the text I want. But the idea is hopeless. So I will try to play from memory sequences:

"It hit our people deep in the heart, died when our beloved leader. The man writhed in pain for ten days and shed rivers of tears, which is immediately to the red granite solidified and became the red flag of the room. Every individual, whether workers, peasants, children or retirees, whether artist or scientist, here in our country, indeed in the whole world could feel this tremendous loss and was inconsolable. But he, Kim Il-sung, our beloved leader is above all, live on in our hearts, we will help with his groundbreaking books, ideas and suggestions in a hopeful and bright future connect. He will not leave us but help also as the eternal president ever. "

So, of course I have my now 2 weeks later, sucked out of the fingers, of course it must have been in a different order. But in principle, those were the exact words that I heard about 3-4 minutes from the player, while I / we ran from relief to relief and the heart-rending scenes of collapsing, inconsolable women, children and men admired .

We then returned the player, diszipiniert we walked single file through an air lock. Whose meaning I did not quite clear, we have many jets are blown by, on the one hand, and sucked on the other hand, that I was glad no blow-but only a bald patch to have. Probably they wanted to get rid of germs, we should not regret it, because now we entered the shrine itself: A large room, bathed in red light, as in a photo lab of my youth. In the middle of the glass sarcophagus, at the corners of space soldiers, we come in and go to the foot. Here, we bow our measured, only we and our leaders. The other groups before and behind us, many visitors. This bowing as an exclusive group of 3 people we repeat only to the right, at the head no, and then to the left. I look at Kim Il-sung. He looks so small, so small. But that may get away that I did so far only on huge murals looked, or as a gigantic bronze or marble figure. Here, in his true, human size, he will transfer it from my Western point of view, by the eternal flow of visitors to his deserved peace of the dead. But of course that is intended selfish, a leader who is there for his people, is present even after death.

measured steps we leave the dead and go into another large room. Here are all the medals, honorary doctorates, degrees and titles issued the one given him added. Over 200 are. About the showcases, walls, large photos of the leaders and religious giver in the world, Fidel Castro, I particularly remember. The Order itself from major countries, Peru is above average friendly ceremony, numerous decorations, honorary doctorates and titles from that country alone. The display cases are filled with honorary doctorates and coats. Especially strong are the countries or predominantly of the 3rd World represented and of course all communist brother countries. It is a magnificent exhibition, I never saw so many brilliant and shiny medals. Yes, you can see here, as was Kim Il-sung appreciated by everyone. Also he was generalissimo.

One does not read all the time to look at everything, because it goes back a long, long way, the run must be not what I appreciate very much. But this time we move on opposing bands, groups come to meet us for groups with Korean workers and working women, dressed up in Sunday best, the women in their traditional dresses. I look at each individual face of these people, hundreds are there, you see how hard they work for Prosperity of this country, as they struggle to shape the daily life with success. Their physiognomy, it says. And since I am always particularly interested in women, I try to discern beauty. But this is difficult, they do not look as beautiful as our waitresses, our leaders or the helpful girl at the hotel. Then there are groups of soldiers, they, like the others before, try not to look too conspicuous, and yet we see them furtively checking for foreigners, for seconds only, we are from another world. Finally, outside again. We also shoot from outside, on the large square in front lose even the few groups. But a photo of the mausoleum must have.

Then we get into our minibus, still under the Einbdruck of the experience, I open my tie and we go to the zoo for the children and our second driver to pick up. Just around the corner of the heroes 'cemetery, Revolutionary Martyrs is' Cemetery, and we see the fallen and as bronze busts established heroes. Even Kim Jong-suk, his Kim Il-Sung's wife, also a guerrilla fighter and his brother are here. Create the days of death of each hero State Organizations wreaths and flowers before the bust. Above, a giant flag on the hill of red stone. But the heroes are less, they die, a number is still space and can be filled.

From here there is a good prospect and I take pictures of the city. Then it's back to the hotel, eat, gather strength, because in the afternoon, the next mandatory goal

The "Pueblo"!

Nordkorea - Tag 2 - Part 2

I get some nasty emails from my loved ones and even here in the comment section, one wonders on my report from North Korea. As if I had been about "turned around". This once again clearly: Please read my basic observations in this article, and additions are here. I write everything as we have experienced it. Also, I do not want to hurt our very nice tour guides. So I will precede this paragraph each time, to avoid any misunderstandings.

the way, I notice here in the hostel, that people have difficulty reading longer texts. Is there such a tour guide of more than 5 lines many have to cope. Here are all intelligent people, well at least some ...

After the International Friendship Exhibiton it goes back to the Chongchon Hotel, at Mt Myohyang. There's daylight now, we have much to people from a moving car and also an insight into the life of the country and small town population to see. Interesting for me are always sites and designs buildings or houses. There I succeed to make some good photos. After a brilliant lunch we cross the highway back to the capital. doze My family and the guides, well least one of the two, the other is always awake. The driver also - thank God. So do I. Sun photograph I can and like to see everything and make up my mind. Once in the town we drive to the Arc de Triomphe. On the one is very proud, because is you will not believe, 3m higher than the "brother" in Paris. It started to rain lightly, but I cross the street, not like what you see normally, despite the low or "do-not-fast." traffic. Into it can not, it will be renovating the Juche Tower is being renovated, the Opera performs for the party, the Symphony Orchestra as well. Everything is closed. But that does not disturb us, a.) there are enough other things to see and b.) we of course understand that preparing a whole country to such an outstanding event.

So we drive to our hotel in Pyongyang, eat dinner and then it goes to the event at all. Then we were happy for weeks, but now it is: We will see the Arirang Festival 2010th The find in the 1st May stadium and I must say, the stadium is already impressive. A complex, interesting architecture, large arches spanning the station, whose stands are all covered. This one has not spilled, here was padded. The stadium would also redound to the glory of any Western capital. It is spotless and the access and exit routes are well spent. Before the spray station color illuminated fountains and music sounds. Then it goes in, we have very good seats, right in the middle, the VIP's sit not much better. Incidentally, we must pay the extra tickets, of course, they are not included in the tour price. For what we have now given the price of 100 € per person is ok, there are also cheaper and then some for 300 €.

I have my 2 cameras and almost all lenses and my son is Overview of the photos and I can Zooming with the 200 mm, 400mm and the details and where I interesting. Flashes, we have not, but we take a higher ISO, so it's really neat. The stadium is finally filled on our page that rounds remain free and the comparison is restricted to a width of the actors. The Arirangspiele have about 100 000 participants, tens of thousands of them are sitting with interchangeable colored panels folding over.

Then it begins. With synchronized stomping, noisy valves of the panels and staccato call is offered to spectators an incredible spectacle. It is absolutely intoxicating. For the first time I experience, because I lack experience in sports stadiums lack of interest, such as staged calculus can move people. While this may keep the whole show 30000-40000 Children and young people up their tables and create your stadium large, oversized pictures and political solutions. Then the show begins, the bottom of the round, with tens of thousands of participants in colorful costumes, an explosion of color and light. An ever-increasing figure representation, a never before seen such perfect choreography by young people. If I write something, then you can assume that I've seen a lot. But this is hard to beat. Wikipedia says this:

The Arirang festival is a North Korean mass meeting to be held in Rŭngnado-May Day Stadium in Pyongyang and the old Korean folk song Arirang named.

The Arirang Festival shows the history of North Korea by means of mass dances and mass gymnastics and will take place at irregular intervals. At the event, depending on their year with most of over 100,000 people. Are simulated in a precise mass choreography on the lawn both episodes from the revolutionary past, such as the deeds of the two leaders, Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il, as well as from the North Korean great view of development of the present. In the stands behind the dance, or gymnastics formations sit tens of thousands of other participants, the trace of individual colored paperboard huge pictures, the effect similar to have a large screen. The Arirang Festival is listed in the Guinness Book of Records since 2007 as the largest event of its kind.

However, it is for our children and us a highlight of the trip. Yes, we have prepared for it, yes we have, in our homeschooling lessons very intense - and also in many conversations - deals with grounding in autocratic states. We have looked in the past and the Olympics analyisert 1936th We have looked at the East German marches, my wife has talked about her youth in the Soviet Union and how it was involved, even with their class in something. We are not naive and not be any innocence on to our children. We make clear that a political system such as the DPRK needs such events, especially inside, as it means people with these games with enthusiasm for political ends. That is why we have made the trip in order to offer practical experience. The whole "fight against right"-speak, the typical holiday clichés in our D-Schland 're on the backside. In any event, if it is then delivers his brain with the Greens or the Left and there is not critical and does not manage to escape the groupthink and forced. That which is done in our schools, but no education to criticism.

So: We enjoy the evening, let us be ashamed carried away, aware of our enthusiasm. But we have in mind why these games are held. But that obscures our joy is not on this evening.

There are also many foreigners there. And dark blue, of course the many tour guides, the men, the women beautiful in their traditional dresses. We conclude with a magnificent fireworks display just above the stadium round. Later, we actually think if we go for several hours again. This speaks for the experience.

Then we drive agitated and in high spirits to the hotel. It follows the usual meetings with our friendly crew and then it goes off because of the children, into the trap.

North Korea - Day 2 - Part 1

If you So travel as we have life such a high density of events that one must keep records to forget anything. To North Korea we did not have a laptop taken away, nor anything that might incriminate. All was in Beijing. So I am forced to save the events in mind is not easy. And prompt me, is a Error has been committed. Yesterday, the first in my report Day, 2nd Part. Well, that one has photos. Based on the EXIF data can be reconstructed sequences. So we are not gone to the War Victory Monument to the hotel. At least not in this. We had, yesterday I had completely forgotten, so all our baggage taken into the bus and are under the monument, s drove two and a half hours on the highway through the countryside to Mt Myohyang and will have in another hotel ü ; bern respects. That night we Bieber but our rooms available at the hotel in Pyongyang. Brilliant service.

So now the beautiful afternoon light on this mountain. On the way I see people on the Fields of work, children and adults sweep the highway. The children are very numerous, and they sweep with great commitment. Never before have I seen that a highway will be swept by hand. There are dust and autumn leaves are removed. The sweepers are fagots or branches with leaves. As long as the children are used to them, enhancing the experience of community and the general procedure utilizing tasks they do not get silly ideas, or so our leaders. For the first time I experience a highway of this void, the only cars that we all look back and government cars and also a tourist bus. I guess I over the entire route a total of not more than 12-15 cars - have seen - in both directions. Now I am beginning to suspect why Luise Rinser, here, as we shall see, was so excited. Yes, of course, this highway is a dream for motorists, perhaps not always from the surface or the surface here, if you want to drive 200 km / h, but the traffic density. 95% of all cars are already government cars. By the way we see these days, some times Mercedes, older models, but also 2 new S 350

The people we see on the fields or on the edge of the highway are usually deeply tanned by the sun, a sign of their long stay and their diligent work in the fields or in the open. They work exclusively by hand, I have no real idea of rice, but I have never heard that there are Mähdrecher in rice fields. The cut rice is piled in bundles and fields left to dry. Occasionally we see a means of transport, usually an ox with a cart, sometimes even a tractor or a truck. Especially the truck with wood burning excite our interest that we had in Germany already. Every few kilometers there is a policeman at the roadside, his bike or motorcycle is standing by. Sometimes people eat sitting directly on the highway, or heat in iron vats tar and stamp it with rams into holes in the highway. A job-assurance measure, certainly in Germany would be overwhelmed resin IV receiver with it. Sitting on a chair and watch soap operas is holding less stressful. Occasionally, we are pedestrians or cyclists, and later in the dark without light, contrary to our side of the highway. They go either left or right past our bus, which is run consistently at 80 mph. 100 km / h would be allowed a maximum.

Our tour guides, meanwhile, relaxed chat with us and we with them. Questions are answered immediately. Also, questions about their marital status. I take pictures, think of the conditions and only a few times shaking Mr. Ri, when I look at him, his head. Then I make a photograph. This works so well.

The more golden rice fields shimmer in the evening light, the scenery looks really romantic. It's all and do nothing wrong, that a people to its agricultural potential senses and is on the way to self-sufficiency. Insofar as the eternal president has shown in his hand position on the monuments and advance in life, the right way. But Then suddenly, just before the finish, a storage of 5 cars and minibus. A police officer locks the access road to our hotel, which is still 10 minutes away. The stop takes about 30 minutes, the cause is a delegation that has just departed from the hotel and meet us on our road. It should not be hindered. Well, that we understand, even in our delegation's visit is preferable, and our government limousines even ignore any parking restrictions and holding in the capital.

then, now it's dark, we can go. The closer we get to the hotel is so full of the street. Several hundred people walk or cycle to Home. They come from the fields of work and so my impression is, larger distances have to lay back. Here one must still be good to walk. Although the hotel itself is older, but renovated, in the entrance hall is a huge mural, the two Kims amicably in a garden get us back two rooms, there is hot water on demand for the morning, man what you want more. In the restaurant we will again use zuvorkommendst. Slowly she is in us a feeling of delegation, which will improve in the next TSGEN yet. Finally, we call it "Putin feel" for who knows a little white in Russia that Putin just rushes through the province and everything always perfectly prepared and voted for him finds. Nice feeling.

Then we go to the hotel. Breathe deeply. It is pitch dark, no unnecessary lamps consume energy and then we go in Chongchon Hotel, at Mt Myohyang to bed. Now would be the paragraph about the TV from my last post here, then we are back in the correct order.

Next Morning, after breakfast we go first to a Budhist temple. Another group is also there. We see a well-kept temples and gardens and a monk. The guide shows us a treasure: first editions of the teachings of Buddha, 800 folios (the Buddhist teachings were given orally and was not recorded much later.) This collection is unique. Today you can be a Buddhist again. The Communist Party has since opened a little. We have seen but not believers.

Now it goes to the International Friendship Exhibiton. That sounds terse, but it is an absolute highlight. Other tourists may see things differently, but we are back and away. In beautiful countryside, rolling hills, quaint walks, picturesque waterfalls and lush vegetation that includes a museum is for all the gifts that Kim Il-sung and Kim Yong-il have ever received. The bus stops at a respectful distance in a well-maintained facility that consists of two approximately 300 m aueinanderliegenden buildings. Other coaches have come to them enströmen Korean workers and women workers. The women move quickly into the bushes beyond their traditional clothes. The buildings are huge, I think that's dedicated to Kim Il-sung building has 500 rooms. The architecture is already outside aesthetic and conforms with the curved roofs of typical well in the landscape. The best, most enthusiastic leader is measured steps with us to the building's Kim Il-sung. Two soldiers guarding the entrance, my little daughter will open the honor given to the 4-ton bronze doors. Then, inside, we get soft overcoat for the shoes and have to give the cameras. All floors are Marble, they are endless and one has to be in good shape to run here everything. But we do not, on demand, we say that we are interested in the gifts especially Germany and Russia.

Kim Il-sung scored a total of 329 000 well gifts, from 183 countries in the world. Sowa was impressed and it shows how much this communist leaders recognized but appreciated all over the world. The leader, you realize at every word, her enthusiasm and love for the eternal president, proudly shows them a gift after another. One should not enter this permanent exhibition as an art critic, the gifts are not assessed under these criteria. If a gift also reveals something about the giver then this is the case here. You learn very quickly here, the different tastes know that the president of a football club from Upper Volta, as well as the leader of the Communist Party of Benin or Fidel Castro and Erich Honecker. Honecker ... yes, I should measure the value of individual gifts seen, he would probably at the top, or near the top. Anyway, I'm zeimlich of the socks, as I see a huge dinner service from Meissen. When I inquired I hear that there are many more parts than that exhibited in the showcase. Person who can not be stingy and Kim Il-sung really shows how much he appreciates him. You for head of state that they have to pay anything out of pocket. But a tasteful glass block with an embedded clock is visible. Schenker, a "citizen of the USSR". Or pictures that show how the American aggressor falls from the world. Or trinkets for your desk, a Mercedes 600, a railroad car of Mao, or a grinning, standing on its hind legs with Krodkodil tray in the front legs by the Sandinistas. When I think back, I think parents, especially had given a very young age so this was also sometimes, well, we say, look critically under strictly artistic evaluation and, from today's perspective. So one can not approach such a collection. One must take into account already, that we wanted to honor Kim Il-sung really. All great Schenker's lifetime Kim Il-sung's are represented, but also very unknown. No matter. It has taken the trouble and sort the gifts by country and housed in the country areas. One notices at each Showcase the love of the Koran and the giver of the world to Kim Il-sung.

We slide on our soft-coated shoes endlessly from room to room, occasionally come across large groups of Nordkoranern toward us, in the endless corridors, soldiers, working men and women, dressed up for this great visit. They stare at our mini delegation and they're gone. This is all a bit unreal, but then comes the really big moment. In a very large and high room is at the end of it: Kim Il-sung! He stands there, seconds you think really, but it is a life-size wax statue, a gift from the Chinese, so deceptively really, you do not believe it. Well-dressed, he is in a rural idyll, between eternal blüheden Azaleebüschen, gentle Spärenmusik in the background. We, the family, our leaders and the leader, come before and, as we stand in a row, bow down before us this great man, the inventor of Jucheideologie, the great fighter and eternal president. All of us, my entire family, including the children, but especially me, so impressed that I still days later in a trance and I'm thinking back to that taken Augenbklick. In particular, our leader and leaders are taken, the thing that I now, at this moment, it became clear how much Kim Il-sung but lives in the hearts of his people.

Finally, we see a giant blackboard, where we are shown with blue LED strip the railroads of Europe, Asia and North Africa where the great leader traveled. 309,000 km, I think, red lines show the routes, if I mistake not 500,000 km. The most beautiful moment for me is the one where we head to the terrace of the building. Herrlich, in super comfortable chairs you can enjoy the scenery. We are all alone and our leaders withdraw. I myself am like a head of state. If God is looking for a place it would be here.

Then it goes through the landscaped gardens and driveway to the building of the juniors, so Kim Yong-il's. Again 2 soldiers with shiny machine guns but this time a super oversized sliding door. Like this, like Ali Baba's Mountain, where there had he hidden his treasures and you 3 times "Open Sesame" had to call. Here, however, enough to press a button inside of the leader and we are. Again, the Overcoat, and then something like that all again. Kim Yong-il has so far received only 160 000 gifts, but it is growing every day. When I asked, "if I, or we can give him and what" I get a resounding "YES" and it will also promised me that it is issued. Then, also like to skip the digital display and add my gift. (So a digital display I've ever seen in the Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta. It showed that sold drinks.) Only, unfortunately, I will not be able to present the gift in person, an officer will entgegegn take it. Well, we'll think about it. It need not be equal.

the gifts to Kim Yong-il is not only for heads of state, Communist parties, football clubs and socialist publishing houses like his father. Now capitalists are tough to train, leaders of major companies from around the world and politicians that we know yet. Jimmy Carter's signature is shown to us, and something small from Mrs. Albright. A Südkoraner, head of a large company, has donated 33 chairs, Baroque, had very beautifully, they also probably like Louis XIV. But we also see all the batteries of TV sets, Tape recorders and hi-fi systems, computers and electronics. And Kim Yong-il we can admire, even as a statue can be seen: A friendly man, permanently youthful and yet authoritative.

As part of this place eventually, say thank you very uncommon in our dedicated guide, waving her long departing from the minibus and ... to proceed to the next target.
